Red Lipstick Paired with Natural Makeup

If you are going after a natural beauty look consider wearing a striking red lipstick paired with minimal makeup. A Red Lipstick can look striking on every woman so long as it is the right shade. The right shade is ideally just a color you are attracted to. While some women prefer more of the orange undertones, others like a darker lip.

How do you wear red? A lip liner helps line the lip keeping the color from bleeding. A lip liner can be worn in a neutral color, or the color of your lipstick. You do not want your lip liner showing, as it should always just highlight your beautiful shape.

When applying the red lip color, apply it either with a lip brush or from the tube itself. Next, take a tissue and blot most of the color off.

I prefer to wear my red lipstick matt, so I brush on face powder to tone it down. I think it is the biggest secret to wearing red, because the color is muted.

Always pair a brighter lip with earth tone eyeshadow and muted blush. Defined eyebrows and natural skin tone or white highlights under the brows and on the lid will balance out the striking color on your lips. Brighter lips always looks best when the rest of the makeup is natural. Your natural beauty will show through with a simple red lip. Find a red that you enjoy but also looks best for your skin tone.

If red is too intense for you, but you are wanting that vintage beauty, try using a lighter hue of red such as an orange, peach, or pink. Red can make your lips look smaller in some cases, where as a lighter hues give an appearance of larger lips. In the movies, the children are always seen as having an orange stain on their lips giving a youthful appearance. The vintage look of oranges and peach have always stayed in style, so if you are looking for that glamorous look, reconsider apricot than cherry as your lip color.
