Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara

It seems as though every year the food and personal care products we apply to our bodies are getting increasingly more polluted with synthetic chemicals, and because of this we are also seeing cancers skyrocket at an alarming rate.   If you take a look around at your friends and family it seems like everyone has some sort of illness they battle with, and most are a direct result of the products we take-in (internally) or put-on (externally). Many of the compounds found in makeup have been linked to side effects ranging from skin irritation to cancer.   As ladies ditch the cheaper chemically saturated cosmetics, they reach into their wallets to pay a bit extra for something SAFE.  Often we don't think about the chemicals we bath in, or apply to the skin as being dangerous, but absorbing chemicals through the skin can be more toxic than swallowing them because they hit the bloodstream immediately and are carried to vital organs.  With this said, more non organic companies are offering organic lines aside from their regular lines in hopes of cashing in on this growing market.

Some of the easier organic cosmetics such as foundation, eye shadow and blush are relatively easy to find in a natural blend, but it is the mascara that has been increasingly harder to find.  Out of all the cosmetics, you would think we would take extra precaution to what we apply next to our eyes, but most don't give it an extra thought.  I know I haven't for so many years, but as we are seeing so many family and friends develop health issues at younger ages, you start paying attention.

Some of the most common ingredients in mascara  could cause organ system toxicity, endocrine disruption, brain toxicity.  The worst of all the ingredients are triethanolamine, propelyne glycol, benzyl alchol and  parabeans which are in a lot of brands of mascaras.

Parabens mimics the hormone estrogen, which can play a role in the development of breast cancer.

Phthalates are chemicals that could damage the liver, kidneys, lungs and reproductive system.

Diazolidinyl urea.  is a  chemical which releases formaldehyde and acts as a preservative.  It could contain carcinogenic impurities and is associated with other significant health problems.

Ethyl acetate - prolonged exposure to ethyl acetate can cause damage to the lungs, heart, kidney and liver.

Petrolatum. may contain harmful impurities that break down into chemicals linked to cancer.

Sodium laureth/sodium laurel sulfate. in other words most commonly written as SLS can penetrate into the eyes, as well as the brain, heart and liver, and show long-term retention in the tissues.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear contains a 100% Natural Origin formula.  The ingredients claim to be the purest and provide the same amount of  lash length, volume & definition than the chemical brands.

Review: Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara Review by Pinkie Charm

"I've been wearing this mascara for about 2 months and I love that it isn't waterproof because all other mascaras leave a slight smudge beneath my eye when I take me makeup off and the Organic Wear formula comes off really well with just warm water. I also love the 2-for-1 pack, such a good deal! Also, since I've been using it, I've noticed my lashes have gotten visibly longer. This is by far the best cosmetic product I have ever used!"

"I bought the foundation, blush, concealer, and organic mineral veil and the mascara! I totally love it! I am very pleased with this line. I haven't tried the shadows yet, but the liners are great. I totally would recommend this product. I actually, like the the mascara tube and shiney handle---to each his own, I agree on the packaging. There is just to much boxing and wrap to get through to get to the product. But I absolutely LOVE THE PRODUCT".

"I bought this mascara and I also like it but the thing I didn't like about it is that it burn my eyes so much!"

"I love this mascara so much! But I must me allergic to an ingredient or something, 'cause, not trying to be depressing or anything at all, but my cat passed away while I was wearing this, and it burned my eyes like no other when I cried! It stung soo bad. But I love it and I wish it wouldn't have, 'cause I love it! "

"I started buying this because it's not tested on animals, and I'm really happy with the quality. I use the whole product line. Not only do I love the quality and packaging, but it's really important to me to support Ecocert Certified cosmetics. I think this is a really responsible and stylish company. Personally I don't like waterproof mascaras because they're so hard to get off my face at the end of the day. This is a perfect formula for me. "

"its a great product... I like it a lot. The mascara rubs off rather easily though. My contacts bother me a lot so i rub my eyes often and it would get black mascara on my fingers.... long after i put it on. still a good product."

"I bought that mascara yesterday. Most mascaras irritate my eyes, but this one is perfect for everyday use. I love it!"
